The BUET Vice-Chancellor said this while discussing with the students in the BUET Auditorium on Friday. He said there will be no organizational student politics in BUET.

The family of Abrar will be compensated and the BUET authorities will bear the cost of the case. A letter will be issued to the government to expedite the trial.

The Vice-Chancellor said the government had assured the maximum punishment for the accused.

Following the assassination of Fahd, Abbott protesters filed a ten-point demand. The Vice-Chancellor spoke to the students this afternoon. There he stated his position on accepting these demands.

The students had given ultimatum on Thursday, saying that if the Vice-Chancellor does not meet them at 2pm on Friday, they will lock all the buildings in BUET. In such a situation, the Vice-Chancellor was informed of the meeting yesterday.

Students gathered on the BUET campus for the morning of the fifth day to protest Abara's murder. This morning, they also observed various programs, including processions and road plays.

Abrar Fahad was a second-year (17th batch) student in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He lived in the number 2011 room at the bottom of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall in BUET. He was called to room number 2011 in the same hall last Sunday around 8 pm.

The accused BUET student league leaders tortured him in that room. Police recovered his body from the hall around 3pm.

Since then, students have been agitating for the demand for the highest punishment for the murderers in the murder of Abrar, banning organizational student politics at the BUET campus.

Students say the program will continue until their demands are met.
