In the murder case of BUET student Abrar Fahad, Branch BCL expelled information and research secretary Anik Sarkar has given a confessional statement in the court.

On the fourth day of the five-day remand, Anik Sarkar agreed to give a confessional statement in the court yesterday. The court granted the five-day remand of the accused in the same case, Majedul Islam.

He was arrested on Friday morning from the Shah Kiran area of ​​Sylhet. Judge Navana Khair JC granted the five-day remand before a 10-day remand petition filed with the court yesterday afternoon.

Earlier, at 11am, another accused, Moaz Abu Huraira (20), was arrested from the Uttara-14 sector of the capital. Moaz was the son of Mashroor-uz-Zaman of Pirpur village in Kishoreganj. He is a student of the 17th batch of computer science and engineering department at BUET and a residential student at Shrebangla Hall.

According to court sources, the investigating officer (DB) inspector Wahiduzzaman presented Anik Sarkar to the court yesterday morning. He appealed to the defendant's voluntary confession record. Following this petition, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam recorded the statement of accused Anik. Later, he was sent to jail.

On 5 October, the court granted the five-day remand of Anik Sarkar.

BUET Chhatra League's deposed deputy sub-social service secretary Ifti Mosharraf Sakal and deposed sports secretary Meftahul Islam Zion pleaded guilty in the murder case.

Police said in the statement that Zion had called Abar into a room at around 8pm on October 6, at the behest of the organizing secretary of the BUET branch BCL, Mehdi Hasan Robin. Ifti, Mostafa Rafid, and Tanvir was the residential student of this room.
